The PlayStation 4 does not offer the kind of backwards compatibility support that the Xbox One does, and it sounds like that won't change soon, if comments from a top exec are anything to go on. In a new interview, PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan said backwards compatibility is a much-requested, little-used feature.

New gameplay from the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has been released today, featuring the level from Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back - "Sewer or Later." One of Sony's big talking points for the PS4 Pro is its support for High Dynamic Range content, but players won't have to wait until November 10 to see what HDR is all about. Sony's Andrew House announced that a firmware update due out next week will make all PS4s HDR compatible.

During a brief live demonstration today, Sony announced the PlayStation 4 Slim at $299 and the PlayStation 4 Pro at $399. The PS4 Pro has a better CPU and supports for 4K and HDR gaming, no hardware specifications were released. Both systems will be available this fall.

Sony annoucned today that starting on September 22, 2016, prices for PlayStation Plus memberships will change to $59.99 USD/ $69.99 CAD for twelve months and $24.99 USD/$29.99 CAD for three months. The monthly rate of $9.99 will remain the same in the US while moving up to $11.99 in Canada.

If you are currently a PlayStation Plus member, you will be charged the new rate if your membership renews on or after September 22nd.
